100 Layette Kit Challenge
( a layette is a complete outfit and equipment for a newborn infant)
Your mission team would like to invite you to join a challenge of putting together 100 UMCOR layette Kits to be sent to Midwest Mission Distribution Center. Start date for the challenge is Sunday March 12th and will continue until August 6th. We would like to ask you to bring in donations of ANY of the following, and place them in the baby cradle in the sanctuary.
The contents of the kit include:
- 6 cloth diapers
- 2 undershirts or onesies
- 2 infant size washcloths (no adult washcloths)
- 2 gowns or sleepers
- 2 diaper pins - must have protective plastic closures
- 1 sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket - must open from the front, amy be hand knitted, crocheted, or sewn.
- 2 receiving blankets - 28" x 28" to 32" x 32" (no crib blankets)
Patterns for sweaters, jackets and diapers are available if you would like to make them. All items must be new and not washed and cannot have advertising, religious, patriotic, military or camouflage symbols on them.

UPDATE
100 Layette Challenge
When we first started talking about challenging our church family to put together 100 Layette Kits for UMCOR it sounded like a huge task. But we have already completed 30 kits and have a lot of additional items to complete more kits. To date we need the following items to complete the 100 Kits:
- 65 Sweaters
- 133 Sleepers or gowns
- 103 Baby washcloths
- 112 Receiving blankets
- 325 Pre-fold Cloth diapers
Romans 12:11 says “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord” Our church family is stepping up together to help provide for 100 babies in need, and doing so we are serving the Lord. May we continue to do our work for the Lord with joy and zeal as we serve HIM.
