Boy Scout’s of America

                                                                                                   Boy Scout Troop 202
Welcomed Scouts back to school at the first Monday meeting in August. Troop 202 is a boy-led troop which means every
year we elect different boys to lead our troop and our individual patrols. Scouts in our troop participated in several fun events over the summer.

In late June, 10 Scouts and 7 adults earned their 50-miler award by canoeing 54 miles over 5 days on the Big Manistee River. Twenty eight Scouts and 11 adults attended our annual week of Summer Camp at Gerber Scout Reservation, earning a total of 104 Merit Badges. Seven Scouts traveled to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in West Virginia for some extreme Scouting fun which included white water rafting, zip lining, mountain biking and more. Labor Day weekend, our leadership Scouts camped out at Yankee Springs to plan our year and do some training.

Congratulations to Clay Hall for earning his Eagle Scout rank this September. Other Scouts who earned their Eagle award this year include Ryan Benjamin, Jacob Dunwoody, Daniel Kane, and Kevin Thomasma.

Troop 202 is grateful to the Caledonia United Methodist Church for their sponsorship and we look forward to celebrating our 60 years together in 2018.

The Boy Scouts meet every Monday from 7pm to 9pm. Please check church calendar for meeting changes.
